MEET OUR BUSINESS EXPERTS

Genaro Díaz

Chief Executive Officer Genaro Diaz oversees the originations, acquisitions and operations of GreenWater’s portfolio. He is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in business ventures within a variety of sectors including financial services and real estate. Diaz has more than 10 years of experience in the real estate industry as owner and manager of multifamily and single-family properties. Since 2010, he has been responsible for assembling the management team of GreenWater Investments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, where he graduated with honors.

Ajoy Chandra

Chief Financial Officer Ajoy Chandra oversees underwriting of new acquisitions for GreenWater. Ajoy has over 20 years’ experience successfully leading finance departments at public and private companies in capital-intensive industries. Prior to joining GreenWater, Ajoy was CFO of a Denver-based vertically integrated commercial real estate platform, where he led all Finance functions. His entrée to the real estate industry was as Vice President of Finance with Gemini Rosemont Commercial Real Estate, which during Ajoy’s tenure amassed an office and retail portfolio of 15 million square feet comprising nearly $2 billion AUM. At Gemini, Ajoy led all Corporate Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management functions. In prior roles with GE Capital’s Structured Finance Group and Atlas Worldwide, Ajoy led a range of private and public market financings in Transportation, Energy, and Telecom. Ajoy earned an MBA from Columbia Business School as well as a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He also holds a BA in Economics from Queens College.

Gabriel Pineda

Chief Operating Officer Gabriel Pineda, originally from Mexico, graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a double major in business and economics. Upon graduation, he assumed the purchasing manager position at GDL Asset Management. As purchasing manager he ran CAPEX of investment and replacement, as well as operational maintenance. He continued his studies in Spain at top ranked IE Business and Architecture Schools. Here he obtained a master of business management and a master of real estate development. Gabriel is excited to bring his educational and professional experience to GDL Asset Management to bring success to the COO position and the company.

Allison Filisola

Controller Allison Filisola is responsible for accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining GDL Asset Management, Ms. Filisola worked for a real estate company focusing on the development of residental and commercial assets in Mexico. She focused on asset valuation, portfolio management and financial planning. She also worked in retail and cosumer goods in the financial planning department. Ms. Filisola earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City.

Cecilia Hernandez

In-House Counsel/Risk Management Director Mrs. Hernandez prepares, reviews and negotiates company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents. Consults with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and marketing staff. Develops the organization's policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance and regulatory affairs. Mrs. Hernandez has 26 years of experience in legal matters. Prior to joining Greenwater Investments Group, she was partner of her law firm in Mexico. She was for 13 years General Counsel of a renowned Insurance and Reinsurance brokerage firm in Mexico and was General Counsel of their family office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City where she graduated with honors.

Luis Rancé Fuerte

Chief Investments OfficerMr. Rancé is responsible for underwriting new acquisitions. Prior to joining GDL Investment Group, Mr. Rancé worked as CFO in a consumer's packaged goods company where he co-led M&A and refinancing transactions he was responsible for the administration, accounting, tax and financial analysis areas. Previously, Mr. Rancé worked in a private equity firm; where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the food and beverage industry. Mr. Rancé earned his degree of Civil Engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana.
